MEAT PACKING COMPANY - Chicago, Illinois
A maintenance management organization and information system were developed and implemented in a beef packing house. This included: a simple work ordering system; recording and tracking of the work; developing procedures for reporting to corporate management and programming and implementing supporting software for a micro-computer. Payback was approximately 1.5 times project cost in the first year of operation. The client requested similar installations in six other plants.
TOY MAKER – New York, New York
a survey was performed to determine the company’s current situation. The client accepted the findings and continued the engagement resulting in a turnaround from near bankruptcy into solvency. New operating procedures were developed and a more realistic overhead rate was set. A procedure was developed and the software written and implemented for pricing individual products according to their cost elements. Those cost elements were evaluated for their influence on the final selling price which led to improved product design and effective supplier relationships and cost control.
