Why Planned Maintenance Management Pays:
When a maintenance work order is planned prior to performing the work, the following occur:
- The needed resources of parts, materials, labor, et. al. are known and can be gathered,
- The work can be scheduled for minimum impact on production or operations,
- The work requires approximately one third the hours of the same job done unplanned,
- Out of service time is about one third as well,
- Maintenance procedures can be reviewed and improved,
- Stockroom costs are reduced, and labor training needs are identified.
